Reception Job Available!

This is a front of house, public facing role, working in a busy estate agency branch on Ecclesall Road. We are an established agency and have been working from these premises for 28 years this year. We are looking for a confident receptionist used to working with phone systems, IT, and who is good with the general public. Personality and sense of humour essential! Also advantageous if you aren't easily offended. 

In this role you will be responsible for front of house communication and as an administrator relating to the sales and letting of properties.

This is a varied role, key duties include:

  • Handling inbound calls, booking appointments and passing on as appropriate
  • Greeting clients face to face and referring them to the correct person to handle their query
  • Administration relating to the sale and letting of properties
  • Updating the client database and qualifying applicants
  • Communicating effectively with clients

The successful candidate:

  • Experience in an admin/reception role. Any property industry experience is desirable
  • Strong communication skills; numerical, written & verbal
  • Good IT skills including Outlook, MS Word, Excel
  • Good organisational and time management skills, ability to multi-task
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service

Sales Negotiator Position Available

We are a well-established and very highly regarded Estate Agency in Sheffield, and are hoping to find an experienced Sales Negotiator to join our team ASAP! Our agency has seen continual growth throughout since 1993 and we are now in a position to welcome our next employee into a friendly, stable and motivated team.

This fast paced, exciting role involves:

  • ·         Working in residential sales and lettings in this busy agency
  • ·         Registering purchaser details and matching them to available properties
  • ·         Booking property valuations and identifying opportunities
  • ·         Carrying out accompanied viewings with purchasers
  • ·         Negotiating property sales and liaising between purchasers,  vendors, and solicitors 
  • ·         Working closely with the team, sharing information to secure additional business
  • ·         Recommending the company’s other products, such as conveyancing and financial services
  • ·         Keeping a close eye on the local market, noticing any changes and recognising opportunities
  • ·         Being part of an enthusiastic and driven team, working towards common goals

Candidates will have experience of working in Residential Sales and have a strong knowledge of the industry, a clear passion for property and a good knowledge of the local area – in particular the S10, S7, S8, S11, S17 and Peak District postcodes. You must have:

  • ·         Strong and confident negotiation skills
  • ·         A good understanding of Estate Agency and the sales process
  • ·         A high level of commercial awareness
  • ·         Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • ·         Good IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • ·         A keen eye for detail
  • ·         Confident and able to work alone, as well as be part of a team
  • ·         Able to work to targets
  • ·         A willingness to go the extra mile

Staff Blog! #Job at #Spencers in #Sheffield

THE Job at Spencers


I'm quite proud of our Sally, who has written this little blog whilst she is on holiday! That's how dedicated our staff are to our family. 



"We are on the look out for a new member of staff, and I will happily tell you that I do not envy the task of our Directors in trying to find someone new. We are a tight knit bunch of nine, with one soon to go who we will really miss (just don't tell him, we don't want his ego inflating).

"When you work out how much time you spend with your work colleagues, which is actually more than I spend with my husband, you realise how important it is to find someone that fits. We are not a huge corporate body (thank goodness), we cannot just ship someone off to another office if they don't gell right. So we are looking for someone to fit into our little family.

"Our family is probably very much like your own, we fight, we laugh, we cry, we poke fun at one another and expect that in return. We all play our role and are ultimately all for one another. You'll need something about you, we don't do dull or whiney, and certainly don't tolerate a lack of respect for our other 'family members'. What we have to offer someone new is all of the above and more, we can promise that we will try our utmost to make them feel loved and welcome and give them all the support they need to help them flourish in their role.

Property Management and Estate Agency Accounts Clerk - Another #Spencers Job!

Estate agency and property management experience is essential to work within this role, which is predominantly an accountancy and book keeping clerk position with additional office and administration duties. Because we are a small independent estate agency, we would prefer applicants with a small business mentality, willing to work within a close team with excellent communication skills. Experience required in Sage Accounting and CFP Winman or Premise property management software (or similar) and a knowledge of property management procedures is essential.

Shall we "put you right", as they say in Yorkshire?!

Spencers Surveyors Ltd sold their Property Management Portfolio to Countrywide in 2011. Spencers Agents continued as Property Sales Agents specialising in the south and south west of the city from our office at 469 Ecclesall Road, where we have been for twenty years. Anne Spencer retired. Geoff Ackroyd retired. Jim Spencer still works at 469 Ecclesall Road.
Spencers Agents are now able to re-join the Rental / Property Management market and so we are welcoming with open arms clients, new and old. Spencers are a completely independent agency with strong family values and with a genuine care for our clients’ needs. We know that there are those who prefer volumes of offices, and many different departments stretched nationally and even internationally, but then there are people who like to know exactly where we are, where we have always been.
