Christmas Eve 8:45am – 12 noon

Closed 25^th – 28^th December

Open 29^th and 30^th December 8:45am – 3pm

New Year’s Eve 8:45am – 12 noon

Closed 1^st – 3^rd January 2022

Open as usual 4^th January 2022

We are hoping this year to have a little bit of a break over Christmas after what has been a super busy and stressful year, so please find attached our opening times over the Christmas period. If you are a tenant and have an emergency over the Christmas period, please call the out of hours emergency number*. 

We hope that everyone has a restful break and manages to get to see loved ones over Christmas and New Year and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We hope that 2022 brings more time with family, and that everyone stays happy and healthy. 

*Please be aware of what an emergency is, you wouldn't believe some of the calls we have taken in previous years, like the tenant who wanted a tenancy extension and decided to call the emergency line on Christmas Day..... In the event of a fire, break in, or other such emergency, please call 999. For hot water and heating problems you may need to use your initiative to a certain extent and should have a back up electric heater. For flooding, you may need to isolate the water so make sure you know where your stop cock is. If you have a power cut, please check the National Grid website first to see if it is an outage in your postcode area. As much as we will always try to help with any problems, not everything can be fixed on the day over the Christmas period. You will be calling a member of the Spencer Team so please think about whether you can handle your emergency over a short time until we reopen and can get contractors to you.

Merry Christmas!

We are all a little pleased to see the back of 2020 but some lessons have been learned; appreciate what you’ve got, remember life is short, love those in your circle, appreciate your boss, inhale the time you get with loved ones, only teachers can teach our children properly, the NHS is our saviour, never underestimate how privileged we are if we are loved, have a roof over our head and have food to eat, travel is a luxury and appreciating where we live should not be taken for granted, hairdressers are a necessity, sport is more than just a game, it’s a way of life, in hot water we realise how strong we can be, it does take a village to raise children, our elderly should be protected and nurtured, life is precious, remember that everyone is trying their best.

Property Market Forecast for 2018 

No one dare say the words “strong and stable” anymore in the same sentence but, if we were to, it would pretty much describe the current property market conditions in Sheffield. Over the last few years, the market has slowly limped towards Christmas with us hoping for little snow, and praying that the New Year would fast approach, whereas the end of 2017 saw a strong level of interest and a high level of property instructions right to the end of the year. There’s no doubt that the very top end of the market is still the slowest to move but with realistic expectations there are no reasons why it isn’t a good time to sell or buy.

We are yet to work out whether the stamp duty changes will make any real inroads to the first time buyer market but hopefully it helps to counter the interest rate increases, and we have been rather pleased to see that, although the press aren’t making too much noise about it, the Help to Buy scheme is definitely helping to make life easier for many.

In Sheffield, because prices are solid, we aren’t able to say that any one particular area is “up and coming” but there are many areas that are seeing good results in suburban districts particularly Walkley, Woodseats, Hillsborough, Meersbrook, and Abbeydale, where they may have, not so long ago, been quoted as the areas to buy for better value. The city centre is the one to watch in Sheffield though, and our only advice there is to BUY WISELY, there are many developments shooting up all aiming a similar markets so quality and position have to go hand in hand to ensure a decent long term investment.

October 31^st saw the 5 year anniversary of Managing Director Nicola Spencer & Lee Bullen taking over the family business at Spencers and what better way to celebrate than with a brand new look and a party!

Whilst Nicola would admit that the rebrand itself has been a labour of love, it’s all been worth the hard work, even if we do say so ourselves! We love that Nicola's signature is the face of the brand now, and that she is happy to sign her name to her work and the work that we all do for the business on her behalf, as we all passionately believe we are doing our very best. Watch out for loads more interiors based products too, as well as the gorgeous mugs, as we roll out more and more patternwork and colourways to show off the versatility and opportunities opening up with the new branding - we love it. 

We had a fabulous time showing off our newly designed and extended offices to our guests and danced the night away with thanks to DJ Greg, flowing fizz, and food from the fabulous Marcus (previously Rafters) for Spoilt for Choice. Not only were we able to celebrate with our loyal landlords and vendors, but with trusted local solicitors, developers, and other letting agents who continue to support our focused, family run, estate agency. A fabulous time was had by all and going by the sore heads in the office the next morning, I think we all managed to let our hair down too.
