Have
you ever shopped for a holiday online? You scroll through piles and piles of
offers but if you’re like me, you will only really look closely at the ones
with the pretty pictures. Do you stop to read that there is a hair-dryer in your
hotel room? Or a 24 hour concierge service? In the initial throws of looking, I
do not want to be bogged down with minute details and equally I do not need to
be told that there is a swimming pool, when I can see quite clearly from the
hotel pictures that there is in fact a pool, complete with a bar and a lovely
view.
From these two photos you can see that this house has period
features, such as ornate coving, sash windows, shutters, central heating, an Aga, and is well presented
and loved by the Vendor (are you still with me? Or have you fallen asleep?).
The more observant of you will probably notice the outside brick built store
through the kitchen window, and the granite work surfaces. This is all
information that is important to have confirmed prior to offering, but initial
marketing material is there to get that potential buyer through your door and
needs to be exciting and appealing.
We have now started to move away from the traditional style
of boring room by room explanations, we do not feel it necessary to patronise
our buyers by telling them that there is a “large rear facing double glazed
sash window with a central heating radiator beneath” when it is quite clear
from the large, bright, professional photograph that both of these aspects are
present.
With our lives becoming busier and busier, people are
wanting at-a-glance information in the form of photographs and floorplans, so
we have responded accordingly, making our photos bigger with a high resolution
for those interested in seeing all the details close up. All our brochures have large floorplans on for people to annotate and even draw in their own
furniture if they wish.
I could tell you even more about it, as we love our
brochures, but we’d prefer to show you.
