After serving over 40 years as a Chartered Surveyor and Estate Agent in Sheffield, Jim Spencer is delighted to announce that he is to take up a new position as consultant to Spencers business at 469 Ecclesall Road which he formed with his wife, Anne, in 1993. Anne will retire at the end of 2011.
The business is now owned, and run, by their daughter, Nicola, together with her partner, Lee Bullen, who have taken over since November 1st. The other staff are to remain in situ, with James Bridgland as senior Valuer, Sally Potter, Debbie Hartley, and Ben Newman as Negotiators, and Maggie Desay as Receptionist.
The business has enjoyed a formidable professional reputation over the years, mainly concentrating in the sale and letting of residential property in South and West Sheffield, and North Derbyshire.
Nicola and Lee aim to continue to build on that image, with the additional advantages of current technology, embracing revolutionary use of the new social media, including facebook, twitter, QR codes, etc.
Jim commented
"The new look Company will be about change and innovation with positive changes being introduced to an established format, but maintaining traditional values of outstanding personal service. Spencers has always been about customer service, and it is now time to add new technologies to basic business ethics".
Nicola has a long association with the business, having served her time as negotiator and valuer, before becoming Office Manager until her departure to Edinburgh in 2009 to pursue a similar position in estate agency and property management in Scotland. Lee has previous experience over several years with the Alliance and Leicester Building Society, before embarking upon a career in football, culminating as Captain of Sheffield Wednesday, and Assistant Manager of Falkirk F.C. Their management experience will be invaluable in dealing with client relations and creating excellent teamwork amongst staff members. Many of the long established clients of Spencers will recall Nicola, and her reputation for achieving the highest standards of personal service, and will be welcome to visit the showroom at 469 Ecclesall Road to meet the current staff.
